The Seeds of Compassion with His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Challenge

Anchored by the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, this unprecedented international event brought together world leaders, scientists, educators, business leaders and visionaries, as well as parents, children and community leaders to explore the relationships, programs and tools that nurture and empower compassion in our children, families and communities.

Our challenge was to create a safe, dynamic environment during this 5-day event for the more than 300,000 guests from around the world that attended this once in a lifetime event.

Solution

Waypoint took the lead in planning virtually every security-related facet of this event, to include coordinating security and contingency planning for numerous dignitary protective teams, working with local and federal law enforcement and emergency services agencies, city and state government, the US State Department and US Diplomatic Security Services.

Waypoint managed and coordinated security and protective strategies for more than 6 major venues, including an NFL stadium, an NBA arena and a university sports arena. The security planning for this event has become a benchmark for many events approaching this scale and complexity.
